Introduction

Due to confidentiality agreements, some specific details of the project cannot be disclosed. The images provided are not 100% representative of the final project/product.
However, I have provided a general overview of the challenges, solutions and outcomes.

Problem & Opportunity: Derivatives salespeople often faced significant delays in responding to client inquiries due to the cumbersome process of navigating multiple applications to access investment information. This inefficiency could result in missed business opportunities and hinder their ability to provide timely, accurate responses.

Hypothesis: By consolidating investment information into a single platform, we can streamline the sales process, improve response times, and ultimately drive increased revenue.

My role: As a UX Designer and Researcher at Neo Platform, I spearheaded the entire design and user research process, from strategic planning and execution to comprehensive documentation. My responsibilities encompassed designing innovative solutions, fostering collaborative partnership with the product manager and development team, and contributing to a successful product delivery.

Research

Research Objectives: Uncover Key Jobs-to-Be-Done: Pinpoint the primary tasks and objectives that derivatives salespeople seek to accomplish in their daily roles. Map Challenges and Pain Points. Explore Technological Opportunities.

Method: In Depth User Interviews using Jobs-to-be-done framework, Job Map, Affinity Mapping, Journey Mapping, Thematic Analysis, User Flows.

Research Findings and Prioritization: After carefully identifying and analyzing the core tasks and objectives of derivatives salespeople, the product manager and I collaboratively prioritized which jobs-to-be-done would be addressed in the application. This strategic approach ensured that the application would focus on delivering the most impactful solutions to meet the critical needs of our target users.

Solution

Iterative Design and Validation: To expedite the design process and ensure alignment with user needs, I developed a series of rapid prototypes. These prototypes were thoroughly discussed and validated within the team, fostering a collaborative approach to refinement.

Early User Feedback: To gather valuable insights early on, I shared the initial designs with a working group of derivatives salespeople. This direct interaction facilitated quick feedback and enabled us to validate each step of the design process.

Delivery: We successfully delivered a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) that effectively addressed the key jobs-to-be-done identified for derivatives salespeople. This solution had an immediate and positive impact on their ability to quickly access and analyze client investment data. The overwhelmingly positive feedback from users validated the value of the product, securing funding for further development and positioning it as a leading tool within the team.
